Introduction
On the dusky day of September 5, 2017, being a memorable one for the tutors and trainers, My hubby and I wanted to hang out to spend a pleasant evening tasting the favourite south Indian cuisines available at Chennai. We planned to explore the nearby mall Express Avenue at Royapeth. As usual to kill time we ended up peeping in through every store and found nothing worth it. Finally, we planned to fill our tummy and leave the place and something caught our eyesight…A dining area with the name Dialogue in the Dark. We inquired about it but were dilemmatic if it were trustworthy or worth the penny.
We had carefully been through the instructions and finally made up our mind, to go on this adventure.
There opened a door and all that we could see was nothing, a voice called us and took our short introduction, then we stepped into the complete darkness, I and my hubby gripping each other’s hand tightly. A mere male voice was directing us what to do and how to step forth. We were guided to a proper seating area and made comfortable to elude all fear. Mr Zabeth was our guide who got us the surprise meal to savour in the dark which was delicious indeed. Eventually, after the meal, we were lead towards the exit by Mr Zabeth who stated an awestruck truth saying that the employees working were physically challenged. It was hard for me to believe till my eyes curiously perceived our guide through the light. Mr Zabeth himself was blind and fighting the same darkness throughout his life for decades….
This incident left my husband and myself mesmerized and astounded.
We were deeply touched by their service and hospitality and moreover got a chance to know life, at least for few moments from their perspective.
In our country, Blindness is mainly the end-result of certain ocular illness like cataract, ocular trauma, optic nerve degeneration or retinal artery occlusion and glaucoma and many more…
Though most of the conditions can be corrected or at least their progress can be stagnated, the more awful outcome is of Spiritual Blindness.
That memorable meal made us pen down this article and highlight few agendas about Spiritual Blindness.
We all are a part of this world, admiring the colours in the sky and the lovely environment around but many don’t see the same with their pessimistic views. Negativity, idolatry (i.e prioritizing phones and media over your health and spirituality) have filled up the minds of the present generation that we don’t look at the goodness but only the failures in life. Our eyes are the light of our Body and our eyes do not see what our mind does not know. That’s the sole reason Bible quotes “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.
Matthew 5:14.
We are the light to bring others from out of their darkness. God called us for this very purpose to not let this darkness rule our lives but to let the light of this world that is Jesus Christ to be our eternal guide.
