Hurry up and wait Syndrome
Have you heard of this before?? Hurry up then you got to read this…This isn’t an actual medical terminology but a psychological disturbance or rather a circumstantial disorder seen mostly in the business world. This discovery is based on a recent research which was done among the employees of a certain firm (A study by Ron Ashkenas) where the certain task was assigned to them despite their usual work profile. The workers tried to hurry with the given task and tried all possibilities for faster accomplishment and later ended up waiting with not much benefit.
The ‘hurry up and wait Syndrome’ is a research finding rather than a medical problem but it’s very fascinating to know about it. In present scenario just analyse yourself where we stand, we do hurry up for many things in life, making decisions, looking for jobs and moreover about future. Hurrying many a time may eventually lead to lack of focus, may build up stress and pile up worries. Bible says in ” 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”
Our God is never in a hurry, and we should never mistake that He works at a slow pace. Rather than hurrying and waiting for an erroneous outcome, we can wait patiently on God. Many these days are fervent in listening to prophecies about Lord’s coming, end days and many more… But they never look up or be patient enough to test it with God’s word. Every prophet and their prophecies have to be verified with scripture, never hurry up trusting it and landing up in trouble.
Psalms 37:7 states Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked. Let us renew our strength and not hurry up and call onto trouble.
Many a time waiting for us difficult and painful, testing our forbearance and breaking us to tears but trust in God cause when you wait on Him. It is worth it always…
