26. Rapunzel syndrome

Rapunzel syndrome

“RAPUNZEL! RAPUNZEL!Let your hair down and let me climb” This simply drives us back to the fairy tale days of childhood when we believed it to be so true and yes it truly is…Rapunzel syndrome is an extremely rare intestinal condition in humans resulting from ingesting hair (trichophagia). The syndrome is named after the long-haired girl Rapunzel in the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. Trichophagia is sometimes associated with the hair-pulling disorder trichotillomania. This syndrome is a rare and unusual form of trichobezoar.

It’s symptomatically treated with antipsychotic drugs but if a trichobezoar forms it is treated surgically with a technique that can leave you appalled.Yes, it’s coke(a carbonated soft drink) which is usually futile from nutritionists perspective but plays a vital role in dissolving the ingested hair. In a similar analogy, we humans are habituated to depositing certain deplorable thoughts and beliefs in our mind, it may be done with or without our acknowledgement. But only when it starts hindering our Spiritual life we realize that we need treatment with God’s word and fervent prayers.

‎Bible says in Luke 6:45: A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart. It’s not only the physical intake which plays with our health but also the thought rooting in heart and mind which hinders our relationship with God. Moreover be diligent in whatever you speak and think, cause we need to pay an account for everything.
