8. Patent

PATENT
In medical terminology, the word patent means a vessel or a duct that is open and fails to close. Certain ducts, tissues are supposed to close or degenerate after birth or within a period of time. Sometimes when they still persist it cause numerous troubles. Such as patent ductus arteriosus where blood vessel connecting the main pulmonary artery and proximal descending aorta remains open. This result in so many undesirable symptoms in neonates and finally requiring surgical procedures in some cases. There are other structures that may remain patent too like patent foramen ovale which has a role in paradoxical embolism and so on.

Likewise, when we are born again leaving our sinful nature, many a time we tend to carry a piece of habit or a thought or a memory with us. We get tormented by it. Some people after getting over, abusive or unholy relationships still struggle hard to forget and prevail over it. Their strong soul ties will haunt them for long. They will keep crying over it, expressing their sadness in social media for a long time. Some struggle with addictions in a similar fashion. Many still struggle with their old sinful nature even after a born-again experience. God clearly warns us against that, since those things will potentially destroy us. Satan uses such things to deviate our path.

Word of God says Isaiah 43:18 says “Do not remember the past events, pay no attention to things of old” again in 2 Corinthians 5:17 we read “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, see the new has come!” Dear friends don’t keep things which are of the past patent in us. As for how our body closes them once we are newborn let us close those hurtful, sinful past things and be a newborn in Christ and be blessed. God bless you.
