17. Ulcer

Ulcer
The world of medicine and science laughed when Barry Marshall & Robin Warren proposed that a particular organism can survive the harsh acidic environment of the stomach and can cause the Peptic ulcer. No one believed that an organism can survive in acidic pH of the stomach. In the end, because of vexation, Barry took a Petri dish containing the organism and swallowed it and produced the same symptoms of a Peptic Ulcer Disease and later treated it symptomatically and was significantly relieved, thus proving Koch’s postulates. This drastic lethal move led to the discovery of Helicobacter pylori which won them a noble prize.

When they told the world about the discovery they were ridiculed, laughed at and mocked at. Many times when we are in a progressive phase in our life we will face discouraging words, bullying statements and mocking people and negative comments. Even when Jesus Christ was on earth, he was ridiculed by his own people. Rather than being demotivated by others, our strength lies in accomplishing our task.

Word of God states in 2 Peter 3:3
“Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires.” and also in Proverbs 17:5 “Those who mock the poor insult their Maker; those who rejoice at the misfortune of others will be punished.
Our God is a God of justice He will never let you down, through these trials you would turn out to be something magnificent.
