Church, a place of worship, honour to the Living God where our heart finds peace and refuge, is where I longed to be after entering a new Campus during my training as a Physician. I enquired about a place of worship to my colleague and was taken aback by his response. He said that their worship was more or less like a discotheque where they turn onto some satanic nuisance music and dance in the name of extolment to God. How some people have belittled God’s majestic throne as a centre for self-entertainment!
Illogical and incoherent but the apparent truth, the present day worshippers are paving way for entertainment to be inculcated in Church devotion. Dancing is never a sin but doing it for others, rather become a centre of attraction and seeking fame is condemning. This will surely devour the essence of Holiness and give reverence to God, which is an abomination. At times even the secular pubs have some dignity of not breaching the ethics of their lifestyle.
In I Thessalonians 2:4 ‘But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so, we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts. ‘We learn that we have a responsibility of gathering souls for Christ by sharing the gospel and not merely to assemble members from other Church to build a bigger cinematic worship team. Such practises should be terminated and this amendment could be done by educating them of the authenticity of devotion.
