Pandoras Box
In Medicine, the abdomen is called as Pandoras Box. It is because once you open it surgically it can lead to anything. The story behind the Pandora’s box is fascinating. In classical Greek Mythology, Pandora was the first woman on Earth. Zeus ordered Hephaestus to create her. So he did, using water and earth. According to Hesiod, when Prometheus stole fire from heaven, Zeus took vengeance by presenting Pandora to Prometheus’ brother Epimetheus. When Epimetheus and Pandora got married, Zeus presented the newlyweds with a jar that he said to not open. Out of curiosity, Pandora opened the jar, releasing death and many other evils into the world.
Many of our heart is a Pandora’s box, out of it comes all evil, sinful thoughts. Out of it comes hatred, lust, rage, adultery, fornication, addiction, pride, lies, jealousy and every sinful thing. The Word of God says “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies” Mat 15:19 Our heart can be a reservoir of good and evil.
This is why word of God asks us to give our heart to him so that he will make it new. Give your heart to him, He will heal you from all the hurt, he will cleanse it from all evil and sinful thing, he will fill it with his peace which surpasses all understanding. Don’t give it to humans as they will use and break it beyond repair give it to Jesus he will mend all the broken pieces. God bless you
