Eat whatever you like and drink whatever you want…. if this were a protocol, the morbidity and mortality rates would have spiked, lowering the efficiency of mankind and eventually bringing down life expectancy. Bible has a disciplinary lifestyle for Spiritual as well as Physical growth. In this section, we would be dealing with the prohibited food in the Scripture.
Bible states in the book of Leviticus 11:3-4 “You may eat any animal that has completely split hooves and chews the cud. You may not, however, eat the following animals that have split hooves or that chew the cud, but not both. The camel chews the cud but does not have split hooves, so it is ceremonially unclean for you…..These instructions go on until the end of the chapter. Now, why is it stressed in the Bible to restrict certain type of food? Jewish dietary customs is termed as Kosher.
The split hooves or cloven hooves are a sign of offering sacrifices to gods and chewing the cud literally means rumination. The limitations on consumption depend on following points:
- How the food was raised, cooked or cleaned.
-How the particular animal lived.
-Whether food comes from creeping creatures.
- Whether with fins or scales.
It is essential to realize that these foods were not only prohibited on ritual norms but also for health-related issues.
Present day Scenario:
The all-time favourites, mouth-watering delicacies are the Fast foods also called junk foods. Not criticising the lifestyle of youth, I would like to highlight the health risks from the medical perspective. The recent advances gather you all the info about Fast foods and their detrimental effects but knowing the fundamentals is essential. The health hazards include chronic diseases on prolonged consumption of these foods like

(3)Heart Diseases- CAD, IHD.
and to the worse they have proven to be a risk factor for certain malignancy.
Laws are not meant to be broken, and once broken we have to pay the penalty. Eating the wrong stuff at a wrong time and at wrong frequency will have a pounding effect on health.
