67. Placebo

Placebo
A word traced from its Latin origin meaning ‘to please’ or ‘I shall please’. Many medicos have come across this term, rather more frequently used by pharmacists. A drug is classified under this category when it’s pharmacologically inert and causes more of a mental effect than a physical effect on a patient. Placebo drug is given to simulate the effect of the original drug.
We at times seek placebo or become a placebo for others. In certain catastrophic conditions like a financial loss, relationship breakdown or unemployment some drift away to seek pleasures in someone else than your other half or gratifying oneself by alcoholism, smoking and drug addiction, being engrossed in porn sites or even to the extent of binge eating frequently to alleviate stress. This is just an unrealistic approach to relieve the social mishaps but these pleasures take a heavy toll on your relationship, social life and till eternity.
‎Bible says in Ecclesiastes 1:8 ” Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content.” Our mind accepts only what it wants to hear or see or speak about, whereas we must analyse that these are placebos in life. Learn to face situations rather than running away from it. Bible says to resist evil and it will flee from you. Let your mind take a control over decisions and let not circumstances decide your fate. Live the truth and overcome falsity.
