69. Jerusalem Syndrome

Jerusalem Syndrome
It is an uncommon delusional disorder pertaining particularly to the visitors who had been to the city of Jerusalem. The victims suffer a group of mental phenomena with religiously themed obsessive ideas about Spirituality. There are shreds of evidence from the city of Jerusalem where tourists have been on a holy land tour and later had delusions of being obsessed with some Biblical character. The psychosis is characterised by an intense religious theme and typically resolves to full recovery after a few weeks or after being removed from the area.
One can never deny the fact of having a great time and fellowship at Church, irrespective of the sermon and worship. We experience momentary peace, harmony unless we live and abide by God’s word. I’ve overheard many people being regular visitors to a Sunday Service and enjoying the worship or being filled with Spirit and unleashing the powerful anointing only on a Sunday. Their life is nevertheless the same on weekdays, party, booze and fulfilling every pleasures and lust in life. Either pretending or delusionally having a feel of Spirit which may not necessarily be the Holy Spirit.
This truth might ridicule many, and awestruck me too, but the truth can never change. Bible states in Proverbs 26:24,25 “People may cover their hatred with pleasant words, but they’re deceiving you. They pretend to be kind but don’t believe them. Their hearts are full of many evil.” Don’t be a part-time worker demanding a full-time salary, a Sunday Visitor and anticipating great signs and wonders from God. Be genuine in worship and love God and follow His word every day, blessing and redemption will surely come your way.
