TWO LESSONS FROM AVICII
“One day you’ll leave this world behind
So live a life you will remember.”
My father told me when I was just a child
These are the nights that never die
My father told me”…
These are one of the inspirational and factual lyrics of a secular song that I had ever come across. That’s true that we all are gonna face death one day but these quotes actually portrayed the death of the artist himself. The song composer, a young man with a huge crowd of admirers across the globe ultimately ended up his own life in a miserable way. Why such a fate for a man who earns millions of dollars every year and has passionately crazy followers all over the earth. We can learn two lessons from his demise.
LESSON #1 THE GOD SHAPED VOID
Few days before his death he went through a phase of loneliness which is reflected in the suicide note he left behind. Practically loneliness is different from being alone. Though he had followers all over the world and lovers ready to die yet he suffered loneliness. We can have a life partner, children, good friends, supporters and every wealth we have but yet we feel abandoned. There is a God-shaped void we have which can be filled only by God and no one else and nothing else.
LESSON #2 DON’T GET BURNT OUT
The next reason for his suicide is the work pressure from his own management team. He was overburdened with the stress at work which eventually exhausted him. Whatever be the task it should never hamper one’s mental health and peace. We ultimately need ourself, our body, our mind, our soul and spirit to enjoy the fruits of our labour. So Relax and never mount on the pressure that can deteriorate your mind too.
What we infer from this great artist’s demise is that life isn’t the way we think about it, despite being in crowd or clique we all have a void in our lives. A God-shaped hole which none can fulfil except him. A serene life is what we anticipate but killing our peace with stressful life and unhealthy environment leads us to doom. Always be prudent and analyse that God is essentially a part of you and your life, without Him life becomes meaningless.
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Isaiah 41:10,
Have a wonderful day ahead. God bless you.
