18. Starry sky

Starry sky
The sky full of stars is a beautiful thing to watch. Many of us may remember the lyrics from a Coldplay song “You’re a sky, full of stars”. Stars are beautiful and awesome and multiple times bigger than earth. Starry sky appearance in histopathology is always not a great news as it’s an indication of Burkitt’s lymphoma. Burkitt lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system (in particular, B lymphocytes). It was named after Denis Parson Burkitt, a missionary doctor/surgeon and a research scientist, who first described the disease in 1958 while working in Equatorial Africa.

It can be endemic, sporadic or immunodeficiency type, there is a strong association between Burkitt lymphoma and EBV.The tumour cells, which are medium sized and round with minimal cytoplasm, are closely apposed to each other, forming a dark blue background (the “sky”). These cells have a very high turnover rate, so the macrophages that happen to be hanging around get stuffed with cellular debris (they are at this point called “tangible body macrophages”), and upon fixation, the cytoplasm falls away, leaving round white spaces filled with debris (the “stars”). This “starry-sky pattern” can be seen on bone marrow, lymph node and extranodal masses sections, and it is quite specific for Burkitt lymphoma. The tumour markers are CD10,19,20,22 and bcl 6. Most common translocation is on t(8:14)another variant of (8:14:18) has also been identified.

When it comes to stars many people base their life and future on stars, introducing to one another like “I’m a saggitarian, are you a Libran” became more common today. Many believe their matches are made of stars. Some believe matchmaking and date fixing based on astrology will determine their future and ultimately they fail just like everyone else. Many times it’s the most incompatible signs develop better friendships.

The Bible says that stars, along with the sun and moon, were given for “signs” and “seasons” (Genesis 1:14); that is, they were meant to mark time for us. They are also “signs” in the sense of navigational “indicators,” and all through history men have used the stars to chart their courses around the globe. Word of God says in Isaiah 47:13-15 NIV. “All the counsel you have received has only worn you out. Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you. Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the flame… Each of them goes on in his error; there is not one that can save you.”

Dear friends today stop worrying about Stars and keeping your faith on astrology. Trust in the God who made Stars, he has your future. He loves you more than anything else. He has engraved you in the palm of his hands. Give your life to him he will make it the best and successful ones. God bless you.

Isaiah 49:16 16
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me.
